Looking for a Good Movie?

I tell ya, I was one of the worst I think in terms of thinking illegal immigrants need to be deported...I was not kind at times in what I've said. I have 100% changed my thought process AND I have humbly asked for forgiveness in my attitude.

This was a work in progress not from this movie, (although it cemented it) but from working with a client this summer that was an illegal, that I got to know and no way would I want to see this happen to her. Anyhow, Baldymans sister came for a visit this Friday and Saturday and I went looking for a movie that I thought would be interesting to her. She's a very cultural, educated strong Christian woman. I came across this title and rented it. It was amazing. You wont find action, sex, or vulgar language. You will find, a lonely man that finds deep and amazing friendship where one would not expect. Its comedy at times, good decent happy laughter for Walter.

You will most surely change your mind about illegals if you thought like me. What happens to them is unkind, cruel, unfair and scary. Its heartbreaking. The ending is NOT what we would like to see--but its real and this is happenning every day to many people here. Its got to stop. For those that are productive, non-criminal we need to be kinder to them and help them find a way to stay. Putting them in detention centers and then jails is horrid. Please RUN and rent this and lets all find a way to stop this unkind action.

I'm off for a couple days due to a work seminar...so I will see you fellow bloggers either Tuesday or Wednesday. Happy Blogging!

14 Thanks for your comments!:

Hey Dawnie, Glad to meet you. You let a comment on my Blog about my Surviving the Yard Sale post in which I posted pictures of my back side. You were questioning the 12 lb lost on my side bar. Since you are new and I hope you come visit again, Let me explain. In total I've lost 72 lbs. I went to Israel in July this year and when I returned I decided to forget what I lost before Israel and start a new challenge for myself. That is where the side bar comes in, I've lost 12 lbs since Israel. But, I've been working out so more inches have come off than pounds.

You have a great site. I admire the work you do. I'm glad you have the courage and commitment to do it. Illegals are a major hot spot here with a federal prison housing a lot of them not far away.

Please come visit anytime. Have a great conference I'll be away myself from next Thursday to the following Tuesday. Non-business related!!! WooHoo!

Hey Hectic Life..I know I killed the spelling...If you happen on by, I could not comment on your blog today! I tried everything even going to older posts.

I like your posts about the neighbors...how sad is that? Your exactly right, and its to bad we cant oust them bastards...excuse my language...NO dont excuse it. Anyone that behaves in such a manner is exactly that. At the very least I would call the humane society and have those animals rescued, you dont have to give your name. How disgusting their behavior.

I think you are so right. It sounds like a great video. So many horrible stories. You are a very honest person you know, thats why I love your blog. You say what you mean and are not afraid to say when you were wrong to think certain ways. You would fit right in here in Aussieland. I think I will try and get this movie too. There is a lot we dont know and I need to have my eyes opened about this issue - I am sure I have lots to learn. Thanks so much. And yes, go to the Zoo, Dawnie, even if you have to do it on your own! I think I am going through my second childhood!

Hi Dawn
I almost rented that movie, but when I got to the "red box" rental I changed my mind cause I hadn't heard if it was any good. Glad you said you enjoyed it...I'll rent it next time.
I am out of town too, housesitting at my daughter's house, in Las Vegas. I've been going non stop since I got here, but haven't accomplished much, except for spending money. I am doing pretty good at that. lol.

Hi Dawnie!

My view is probably not like yours I guess years ago. I came to this country legally BUT I didn't come from a poor or lost place. I have seen illegal people work and I mean work! for pennies just to feed their families. These are real workers. They know the meaning of hard work and sacrifice. It's not to buy fancy clothes or gadgets but to feed their family. I'll have to check out that movie but it sounds like I'm going to cry in the end.

How did you know I would be by? ;) I heard from a few users via Facebook that the comments were malfunctioning but they seem to be OK now.

About your blog, I will check it out. Jails aren't the worst of the atrocities some of them suffer.

Have you seen some of the border patrol videos? If people are upset about the way they slaughter chickens...
