Me and Ms. Ellie!

Today we spent the day with our 3rd grandaughter Ms. Ellie. We started off the night with a picnic. She behaved great and was alot of fun...despite not eating but us shoveling it in so we could keep up with her.

Next up we went exploring thru the park, they are getting ready for a 4 day festival here in town.

After that, we came home and jumped into the pool....now that was interesting. Me, Grandpa and Ms. Ellie all in this little pool.

I know she had a great time....and I know we did. You just cant beat grandparenting. Does she look like she had a great time or what?

Baby its Hot Outside!

How do you spell relief on a hot day?? Well for me,,,its this little tiny pool. Our yard is not level at all in any place in the back...so getting an adult size pool is out of the question for right now. Next best thing.....is this kiddie pool! Hey, its big enough for even an adult to sit, cool off and even lay in the sun and float around in. You gotta do what you gotta do right?
I took this picture before 8 am this morning when hubby first filled the pool up. By now it should be nice and warm to run and jump into. Here in Wisconsin we are heading into what looks like is gonna be a 5 day High Heat and Humidity....gotta find a way to make it thru. If I'm not around....just check the pool! Stay cool whereever you are.

My Newest Yard Project!

Good Monday Morning! This week's project is this little ole fence. Not much, but yet its making a huge difference in how it looks in the front. Today after work, we will lay the weed plastic down, and plant the perennials which hopefully next Spring will blossum enough to fill this up.
I already have dreams of pumpkins, mums and hay in front of it for Fall, and then something festive for Christmas.
3 houses to the left of me, a lady won the Beautiful Garden Award. I hope to take that away from her next Spring. Mind you, I have tons more to do! I dont even hold a candle as to what she's done. For some odd reason, when someone gets into their yard close to mine it puts a fire in me. I went thru the same thing at my little trailer. I ended up beating that lady simply because she left the campground! The lady next to our house though--she's not leaving and she adds things every Spring...so I guess I better get to plantin!

Simply Sunday!

How is your Sunday going so far? I hope its finding you relaxing and enjoying your family, home, yard, crafts, maybe a good movie!
We spent this weekend visiting our 3rd son and spend the night at his place. I meant to snap a picture of the Boardwalk down by the beach but of course I forgot the camera in the car. How can i ever be a photographer if I cant remember to take the camera OUT of the car? I am tired of missing so many good pictures....
Its back home now and its time to do some household chores and then enjoy our yard and deck and a movie later.
My thoughts all this week have turned often for a fellow blogger who's dog has been missing. Anyone who is an animal lover knows how painful this has to be. The longer they are gone--I think we know the outcome isnt going to be good. Especially for a dog that didnt leave home. I pray no matter what the outcome--for them to be at peace and for the dog to be at peace also--wherever she is. Sometimes this life is just so sad and tough to bear.
Happy Sunday!

Relax!

I'm sorry you cant see this picture very well, but its a picture that hangs in my bathroom and of course it reflects my desire in life to find continous ways to relax, restore, find serenity! It says Relax on it..if you can see those small letters!
Its Friday,,,,,find a way this weekend to restore your soul, bring peace into your home & do something that brings you a smile of contentment!

The "F" Word

I reached the "F" word this past Febuary. The time that evokes alot of feeling for us.
I dont mind actually, todays 50 is nothing like the 50's of yesteryear. I think by now we all know we can age alot better than we used to think.
What I do mind....is that it took me this long to figure out where I want to be in my life. I truly didnt know even a couple of years ago. I now know what I would have wanted to do for a Career, where I would have wanted to live--what kind of house...where I would have wanted to raise a family--I know all of it. AND....there isnt anything I can do about it. Thats why I created this blog....a place to continue my dreams and desires...knowing I may not ever live them out. Thats ok though....I can live them thru my thoughts,,,thru writing and thru traveling, and decorating my home. God can give it to me another way. If we cant have it the way we would have liked--we need to settle for the next best thing.

Hello!

Well hello there! I hope at some point someone out there in the world of blogs will find their way here.

I've visited some very interesting blogs and decided its time for me to begin one of my own. I have alot of ideas but also alot of work to figure out how this all works. I want an interesting blog--and to do that it has to be eye catching!

Until then, if anyone does find their way here....heres alittle about me!

I'm a 50 yr old woman of 5 grown children, 3 sons, and twin daughters. I now have an empty nest. I also have 3 grandaughters. My husband and I celebrated 30 years of marriage this past March....and no it wasnt always fun and laughter. Long long story of which at some point I will detail that in my blog. To put it short...I married him twice!

I work full time right now in Social Work...my dream is to end it within the next year or so and end my working years somewhere close to water and hopefully working in a gift shop that I own. I have absolutely no idea on how I will accomplish this....my guess is, it will literally come from God.

I live in Wisconsin...and I hate it. I dread it...despise it. I simply was...born in the wrong state. However...I will not leave because I will not leave my children or grandchildren...so I'm stuck. Hence the name of the blog---IF by the sea...because I dream of it--but probably will never attain it.

We have a dog named Genie that is our furchild and she is the light of my day...I LOVE coming home to her and cant get enough of her..I will post her picture later.

For now--this is enough..hopefully I will figure this out soon and make this blog so desirable it will bring alot of folks to chat with.
