Easter came early for my house!

We had our Easter Dinner this weekend, since most of our 5 children wont be around next Sunday. I actually liked it this way. That means I will have an extra long weekend next week, and I wont have any committments! This was my bed on Friday as I got out the baskets and got them all together. Not only do I make baskets for the grandgirls, but also for our 5 adult kids. I know--alittle lame-but thats the mother in you I guess. I had a ton of leftover candy and I think I will give that to some family at work. Our dinner turned out great-I think it might have been one of my best ever. I made ham, lamb, Sweet Potato Pie, Hash Brown Casserole, Greek Salad, Applesauce, Green Bean Casserole, Dinner Rolls. For dessert we had chocolate cake and sugar cookies. Everything turned out really good.
This photo here--is a blurry shot of our little chiminea. We've been lighting it up before we go into the hot tub. It adds just alittle extra atmosphere and I get that smell i miss so much. Our fireplace in the house is gas which is nice, but i really miss that smell of wood burning.
This here is a photo of our hot tub--not a great photo--but this is it! We go in here just about every night--rarely miss a night. We've been doing this for over 5 years now. We always joke if this thing goes down--we will do whatever it takes to get another one because we just love it so much. Neither of us get sick that much anymore and its just great for an end of day relaxin and gettin ya ready for bed. That was our weekend--I hope everyone had a safe nice weekend!

Your dinner sounds wonderful! I love lamb, but no one else in our family will eat it. And if I made it, then I would HAVE to eat it all, right? lol. Do I remember that you use the hot tub even in the winter? You are a brave soul! But I bet it really is relaxing. Kathy (BTW, thanks for the hint about the Philosophy face products, I've been using them for a couple of weeks now and LOVE them)

I think that is sweet that you make Easter baskets for everyone. I want you to adopt me so I can get one too.
Your dinner sounds delicious. Darn, Dawnie, I really want you to adopt me now. lol.
I would go in a hot tub too, if I had one. They are so relaxing. My back would love it and probably relieve the pain.

Well I was trying to decide if i should have ham or lamb for easter but you had both! lol
I make an easter basket for my 22 year old and had egg hunts until this year, finally old enough to give them up. I guess I'll keep making her baskets until she had kids of her own and who knows, maybe still (just like you!)

Dawnie...it is nice to do the holidays on another day. We've done that at Christmas time now with our kids going to their other homes too. It makes for a real nice gathering and no stress on the real holiday. Love the chiminea and the hottub. What a nice way to end the day. Connie

Having your big Easter meal and family visit early means that you can spend next weekend relaxing in the hot tub-right? Our big get together is Saturday, then Easter sunrise service at church on Sunday. Sunday afternoon will be restime!

Gosh, I hope it isn't lame to make Easter baskets for our kids. I still do too! In fact, mine still insist on an Easter Egg Hunt! (Course, they do kinda know what's inside the eggs, and they know it isn't chocolate!) We've been doing egg hunts since the beginning of our little family! Ya just have to have an egg hunt!
You do enjoy that hot tub don't you? I think that's great. Good "together" time each night.
HAGD! Karen

It sound like a heavenly weekend. I love that you still do baskets. I do too! My husband always wants a white chocolate bunny which is a challenge to find every year. I like solid bunnies! My husband is off from work this week so we're going to go chocolate hunting for our baskets, a few spring projects, and hopefully have some fun, too.

Your dinner sounds like it was a great combination of my favorite things. Have a good week...btw I think of you every time I spritz my body spray or use the body butter. :>)

The hot tub enclosure looks very nice. I've been trying to find something like that for my hot tub. This Hot tub Enclosure is the closest thing that I could find that will be acceptable.
