Philosophy

I got sucked in once again in Anti-Aging Skin Care Products. The last one I used was Murad, and I actually did like it-would recommend it, what I didnt like was your initial purchase was I felt very reasonable and after that....Ohhh my you needed to empty the wallet. So, I was done.

Then one night which Thank you God I dont do often, I was watching QVC and came across this line. Philosophy. I thought Okkk,,,I gotta try again because I keep saying I wont go down without a fight. I waited and waited. Actually, I had to pay down my credit card--lol. So this week I was good to go. I at first was going to just order a couple of products that I thought I might like but then I decided to give it a fair shot. I ordered the Miracle Set--(dont you just love their choice of words). That is a skin care line for most of my anti-aging concerns, like lines, creases, sun spots,,rough skin--etc. Then I also ordered their product that is a base for applying our foundation. Suppossedly it gives us a fresh face that is nice and evened out, so we look better with our makeup--or ok without it. That is called Poreless-Flawless, the product that actually got me interested. I've never really been happy with how foundation looks on me.
Okkk, I'm on day 3 of this stuff. So far, so good! I like how my skin feels, I like how the makeup felt after all day at work, AND last night I used the Micro Peel and I can tell today my skin feels very soft, is shinier and has a glow to it.

Note the other product next to the box-its called Hope in a Jar. Boy it makes me feel desperate lol. That is their moisturizer you use in the morning and night. Whats good about this line is that the products will last a very long time, and you can purchase just what you need as they run out and I dont think the prices are that bad. I'll keep you updated but so far, I'm happy with it. There is a money back guarantee which is nice also.

Happy Friday--Anti-Aging Butter~!

YIPEEEE for all of those who work outside the home--today is it! You made it....now we get 2 days to work INSIDE the home..lol. I dont normally post over the weekend so I'm leaving this picture of my newest product. Anti-aging butter. I'll be honest, at first I wasnt sure I liked how body butter is, it will appear greasy at first. THEN,,,once it soaks into your skin--your skin is so soft and stays soft. I will never use lotion again. I put mine on after a shower. I do notice a distinct difference in my skin and how it feels and looks. This butter has different butters in it so I'm calling it Anti-aging. Olive butter is excellent for anti-aging and mature skin as well as shea butter and i also put in some avocado butter and various oils. I always mix the oils so that we get the goodness each one has to offer. I put in some Vitamin E and the scent is Romance--Sandalwood and Rose. Add alittle sparkle so your skin has the lightest glow! Click on the picture to see how pretty it is. I've seen body butters with these quality ingrediants in the $30.00 price range...mine's a steal at 15.00. So thats my newest product.

For this weekend, there are so many birthdays in February that I decided instead of having everyone over once a week, I'm just having one big birthday bash on Sunday. So, that means I'll be a cooking fool--tomorrow and Sunday. I also think my 3rd son is coming for the weekend AND he's bringing his new baby puppy--it looks just like Toto. He's cute as a button--but remember he's a puppy which means--NOT potty trained, and naughty! I think I'm in for a hell of a weekend. To bad my flask isnt ready. I will try to remember to take a picture of our Valentines Dinner and I hope to see everyone else who is staying in--their romantic pictures to!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Its official, I'm now 51...YUCK...I know, I know, what can you do? Well I wont be doing this....this is what I did last year. Since Peter left his bartending job, I have no favorite bartender anymore so I have no where to go! I'm going to have lunch with Baldyman later today and dessert at Cracker Barrel. He got me a gift which I will post at a later date because it needs to be engraved. Its nothing special and some may think I'm nuts for wanting it. Well, I am nuts....working where I work,,, I freely admit I've gotten alittle off balanced. I wanted a Flask--yep a flask. I'm going to fill it with Irish Whiskey and whenever I need a quick pick me up--I'll have it! He got me one that looks like a cell phone, I dont plan on carrying it on me--I'll keep it in the freezer,,,lol. You cant drink Irish Whiskey warm--it has to be ice cold or you will lose it. AND he got me my favorite candy-chocolate raisins. Ummmm, I ate so many last night I had insomnia--LOL!

I'll be back later to post pictures of my goodies...ya know I"m going to treat myself to something today! OH and I have a new body care product--I have to take a picture of and post. Its anti-aging Body Butter in Romance. Its very soft scented--Sandalwood and Rose. It contains an olive butter which is superb for anti-aging properties. I used it last night and my entire house smells delicious.

I got MINE!

I ran to Macy's last night after work and picked mine up. I guess I am NOT lying when I say I'm all about Anti-aging, because its not an easy drive for me. I live in a town right smack in the middle of 2 bigger cities and its about an hour to each. There is only 1 store that carries this product in my area and its in Milwaukee at Macy's. I also picked up their product called Firmology and a lipstick called I'm Msbhvn. Macy's had a 20% off sale if you apply for their store card which how could I pass that up? I didnt realize that Benefit has a collection of products that is pretty vast. I'm going to start today and will let you all know how it works. If I dont look younger I'm going after Bridget, hopefully she will still be on vacation so I can pull her out of her lounging chair and I can slide right on in!

As for the Murad products, I am thinking YES I do like how my skin is looking. I'm going to redorder another month. I think for 39 dollars for an entire skin care system that lasts 1 month-is very reasonable. Prior to Murad I was using a skin care line from Kohl's department store that was also made by a dermatologist that is called Good Skin, it wasnt bad but I didnt really notice anything coming from it. I do notice subtle changes with Murad. Underneath my eyes are not as puffy or dark and my skin texture is moister, and softer. Before Kohl's store line--I was using Oil of Olay, which honestly I saw absolutely NOTHING. I got tired of buying their newest Anti-aging products and seeing 0 results. I'm going to try and get baldyman to take a picture of me this week before the products and then after,,yes I realize having makeup on will make a difference--but I think thats part of it all to. If the skin care is working and your using makeup also from that line--you need to be able to see how it all fits together. When I'm not working or at home--i dont wear any makeup. I let my skin breathe and really when I'm at home--I'm the ugliest slug that walks. Well, I'm off to use my stuff and Bridget--I'll be getting back to ya!

Anti-Aging Monday!

Ok after hearing about a new product yesterday from a fellow blogger, I thought I'd talk about my trial run of a new product that I have been using for about 2 weeks now. Has anyone heard of Murad? https://www.resurgence.com/

I saw it on an infomercial (yes I know) when we were away a couple weeks ago. Joan Lunden is the spokeswoman for it. Not that that carries any weight in my eyes...BUT she does look very good for 57. Well, they got me. I ordered it. AND..Baldyman was sitting right there telling me to do it-i guess he thinks I'm looking older!

Its hard to say if I can tell a huge difference because actually for being 50 I dont think I look to bad anyhow. BUT..I can tell my skin appears softer there does appear to be some mild changes going on under my eyes. Normally, when I wake up they are pretty dark and puffy. It seems to be settling down somewhat. You pay 39 dollars a month for the product if you want to keep using it on a monthly basis which isnt that expensive at all. Us ladies know how much we can spend on make up and skin care!

I think I"m going to give it a try one more month and maybe add another product or two and see how I like it.

If anyone else has any products that you think have helped your skin post about em! For me, my biggest complaint is I get sun spots. I went to the dermatologist and I think he made them worse instead of better. They do lighten in winter. Other than that--I'm not that unhappy with my skin for the age I'm at. I've always taken good care of my skin since I was young. I dont smoke or drink much and I think genes play a role also. Either way, I'm always on the lookout for anything that will help us look our best.

Dancing with the Stars

82? Can you believe Cloris Leachmen is 82? I think she looks great and should win an award for just getting out of her rocker and attempting this. Every day I see people that have given up on life--in their 40's, 50's, let alone 80. She's spunky, looks good and is definitely out there enjoying every second of her life that she has left. Her dancing wasnt that good--but what would you expect from this age???? The only thing I didnt enjoy about Cloris was when the judges gave her score, she called the lady judge the "B" word. While I enjoy her spunkiness, I felt that was totally inappropiate.

And we have Susan Lucci, I remember as a young Mom I would watch her on All My Children. She dosnt look that much different 30 years later! Amazing that she is 62 and looks like this. I've been feeling pretty down since I turned 50 this year and after watching these two women--I feel uplifted again. We need to keep living--keep going and fighting the aging process. I see to many give up because they feel they are old or cant look good anymore. Looking good or the best we can isnt just for the youth folks. I'm told everyday I dont look 50...but I wont lie. I out there trying new products for my skin, I dont drink, I dont smoke, I avoid stress at all costs. I do my best to make sure I rest often. I keep up on changing hairstyles, colors, and I am always up for trying new outfits. All I need to improve on is losing weight and exercising to keep myself limber. I'm not normally a fan of TV but I found myself drawn to this show just out of curiousity of these two "older" women. So far, I'm impressed!

Anti-Aging

Thats gonna be my focus for abit here. I will post some pictures of the products I'm trying right now. I'm on a mission to fight aging....I wont go down without a fight. I see way to many women that look like they've given up. I know its NOT easy to stay on top of it--but hey..its a fight worth fighting.

My suggestions to all women who want to look their best as they venture into Middle Age!

1. Get a new hairstyle, its a must, no excuses. YES, YES, YES, try a new haircolor--be brave!

2. Keep current on new makeup trends, applications of it and make those changes..DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use the same make up style you did at 18 or 20! It will age you faster than God does.

3. Wear nice clothes--invest in them...dont listen to those who say if your older you cant wear this or that...Bulldookey--WEAR it!

4. Stay in life...get out there, be visible, be proud of who you are and what you look like, dont let the young ones get all the attention--demand yours!

5. Dont ever forget your dreams and goals, no matter how old we get, we still have things we dreamed of as young girls, dreams and goals keep us young and alive...our spirits need a zest for life.
