Gingerbread Man!

Ok, here is the Gingerbread Man I made....now dont go laughing. I'm not the craftiest person around and I got lots to learn. Thats why he WONT be listed on Ebay or Etsey or wherever else one sells their goodies. He needs work, no doubt about it. I think he's pretty cute for my kitchen window though and that is where his new home is right now. What I dont like is that he's to thick,,,well even that would be ok...but flip him over and WOW--is he a mess. He has cracks--some potholes going on and other things that would make you go YUCK!
You would not believe how many things I missed when I painted him. I missed a button at first, his nose and eyebrows and that ribbon on his neck. Everytime I painted him and it dried I would find something else! I like him for me...but I will keep working on a gingerbread recipe that is easy to work with and dries up nice and hard and dosnt have such an ugly backside. Actually now that I think about it--his backside looks like mine--wrinkly and dimply!

11 Thanks for your comments!:

It's the imperfections that make him cute! He looks so friendly!!

Whoopi Goldberg was waxing eloquent about Gingerbread men on "The View" yesterday. She had previously said she couldn't find ones that reminded her of the ones she had as a child.

About four companies sent in samples and she chose her favorite. I don't know if they had wrinkly backsides but they looked very scrumptious. Good luck with your quest to make the perfect one!

Dawn, I think he looks adorable and who cares what his backside looks like? I have some dimples and cracks going on too on my backside...not supposed to be there either. lol.
Really, the fact that you even attempted to make him gives you "gingerbread" points!!!!

I for one must stand up for Gingerpeople everywhere in the hopes of sharing the knowledge and understanding that just because their first name starts with Ginger, does not make it OK to adorn them all with ribbons on their heads.

If they had joints, they would also express their dissatisfaction with this stereocookietype.

I think he just looks cute - you dont want them to look too perfect by the way. Congratulations for getting into the whole crafting business - I think its great! Cannot wait to see Baldyman's picture tomorrow - what do you have in store I wonder.
