The nest is empty once again. 2 days ago, they flew the coop. I saw 2 of them leave, one flew off nicely, one flew but then landed and went into the shrubs and the parents went after it. I dont know how they are doing, I wish I did. We have alot of shrubs and bushes in the back and i'm hoping they are around. It was the neatest experience watching all this. Maybe I'll get privledged and have it again next Spring!
Genie is doing ok, still being fussy about eating, her stitches come out this week. So far no collapsing, but then again she is not up to par, so she's not running around. We are hoping it was the tube in her that was giving her problems.
I'm off to check out blogs--nothing else new here!

Oh, the babies are gone! I'm happy that you got to see them fly. And I'm really glad to here that Genie seems to be holding her own. Hopefully she's on the mend and the tube removal will do the trick! Kathy
Hi Dawnie,
This was a neat story to read about, thanks for sharing it with us! I hope all is well with you my fellow badger. LOL, Cindy
Aww they have flown the coop. I have enjoyed this Dawnie thanks to you. Its like reality blogging, lol you ahe allowed tehm to have a good start in life anyway. I bet they will come back - its home after all! I am glad Genie is on the mend too.
What fun to watch the baby birds. I have a nest on my front porch but up high so I cannot see.

glad to hear genie is getting better...dawn you knew they would flew the coop just like the kids..the only differance is yours sometimes come back..lol
So the babies flew the coop. Just like they are suppose to, but kind of sad cause there is no more window bird watching (o:
Do you feel like an empty nester now? Thats kind of sad...gotta wonder how they turn out and where they end up. I hope they do good.
I hope Genie keeps improving.
don't you miss them? I would...how exciting to see them grow! hope you have a great weekend friend
Oh, I do hope Genie will be much better with the tube out. I like the picture of the empty nest. It really is a sturdy, well constructed nest. How great that you got to see some of them take their first flight. laurie
I bet if you look closely - you'll see your juvenile robins running around the yard! :-) They usually don't go too far once they've fledged.
I'm glad you were able to see them fly the coup. It is such a neat thing to watch.
I love watching nature...it is the most fascinating thing ever...what a great story! Glad Genie is doing better...
