Thomas Kinkaide puzzles, i love em! 1000 piece puzzles, alittle crazy I know but for some reason I find myself doing these each winter. Last winter I completed 3 of them...the very last one, was missing 1 piece. I was so frustrated after all that hard work so I tossed it. The other 2 I'm going to put that permanent glue on and then find a place to put them, I used to make puzzles when our kids were little and put them on their dresser tops. I doubt they would want Thomas Kinkaides though....even though they are quite stunning.
This fall I found myself searching out a perfect table to work on puzzles thruout the colder months. What I was doing was insane, Baldyman had a huge piece of whatever he could find around the house--I placed the puzzle pieces on that and carried it from dining table to underneath something when I needed the table. Now I found this perfect card table that when not holding a puzzle actually looks pretty neat in my office.
Do any of you have anything you like to spend time on in the colder months? Everytime someone comes over I tell em to pull up a chair and help me with this--of course most of them scatter like June bugs just like they do when i ask them to play Scrabble. There are a few though that will get mesmerized like I do...my daughter in law last winter was my house cleaner and one time I came home and found she had spent more time on the puzzle then cleaning!
I dont know if your a puzzle person or not--but if your looking for a past time that will capture your attention and pass these cold days--Walgreens has a nice selection of these puzzles. They come in a series so you can actually have a few of them. When your done, glue them and they do make nice coffee tabletops or dresser tops--or maybe a piece of furniture you have on a sunporch!

I am not a puzzle person but I definitely love Scrabble. I have actually been thinking that I need to start doing things like cross words to use my mind more. I think its great you are doing these because it cannot be easy at all.

your post reminded me of time spent with my grandmother, she loved puzzles,I loved to help her,
she always framed them under glassed and my grandfather made a table were she could always change around the top to whatever completed puzzle she wanted.
I don't have the patience for puzzles, but I bet these do turn out beautifully. Please show us when you get it finished. laurie
I love TK! I have many of his paintings throughout our home. Never tried one his puzzles though. I'll have to look into getting one soon. I think they are fun.
I ADORE puzzles!!!
I also love scabble, and Trivial Pursuit.
good times.....
Hiya Dawnie! Hope this finds you well.
I think I'm too hyper to sit down and do puzzles. They would just end up being dust collectors I'm afraid.
Hope the New Year brings you the best of everything.
Dawnie - if you lived by me - I would play scrabble with you! I do like the idea of getting some puzzles for the log cabin and having a family afternoon of it. This is our first winter using our cabin so in addition to the outdoor activities (snow shoeing, skiing, photography) - I like the indoor activities of reading, baking, making craft items such as picture frames, etc.
Hi Dawn, I love your puzzles! I use to LOOOOOve to work them when I was a teenager. It's been years since I did one, but I am always into some kind of craft project and I think this winter I will work on tassels. I also start my spring cleaning really in the winter...cleaning out cabinets and closets....cleaning curtains, ovens...etc. That way when spring arives I can be outside which is my TRUE LOVE! Nancy
I love Scrabble but I'm hopeless at puzzles. My husband and son used to put them together with me but they did the majority (almost all) of the work. I have one we completed framed in my bedroom of a seaside scene.
I purchased one last year that is a Snoopy puzzle within a puzzle. They looked at me like I was crazy and said - sorry no can do. It's still in the box. :>)
My husband and I did a puzzle for New Years. We are puzzle people, and I think they're fun. I love Scrable too!
Love Thomas Kinkade! I haven't done a puzzle in years, and that was one with my little boy Sweet Cheeks. It does sound like a great hobby, especially in cold weather. Here, it's always summer but even so, I'd love to do one in the near future.
Enjoy your puzzles and stay warm! :)
My teen daughter is a big puzzle maker she loves the photomosaic puzzles that they have out. A few of them we have glued and framed.
Stunning quest there. What hарpeneԁ after?
Thаnks!
