Pretty in Pink!

This is my new bike!  I cannot believe that at the age of 54 I got my first brand new bike but its true.  I've always purchased used bikes just to peddle around the neighborhood.   I decided I needed to try out bike riding as my joints and legs are just in such discomfort from the cancer meds.  I cannot walk to far as I'm afraid I wont make it back home!  Soo, biking should work out as when I get tired or sore, i can take a break but peddle quickly back home.  I also decided no more used bikes for me.  I want one new bike in my lifetime.  This is from Wal-Mart, nothing expensive at all, but very nice to me.  It reminds of a beach cruiser which is what I've wanted for the last 2 years.  All  I need now is my wicker basket for picking up treasures on my rides or for small shopping here in town.  I didnt really think about "pink" until after i got it home and then i remembered pink is the standard color for fighting breast cancer.  Currently, I hate pink...hate it.  I choose red for "fight".  However, I do love how this bike looks so I'll just tell myself its just pretty in pink!

Oh my, it is just GORGEOUS. I can go one better. I have never ever ridden a bike in my life. I could be the only one in the world! What a brilliant purchase and I hope it does the trick for you. And yes, get that basket Dawn. It will come in handy. I hope your holidays were great and you are doing ok. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

I'd say pretty in pink for sure :) I have been longing to get on my bike as well. I'm not sure my poor ole heart would bear much more of a workout! But I have to convince my husband to get it down from the rafters- its been there for a few years now and I am ready to have it at my disposal!

Hello Dawn. I got your message on my site (An Unexpected Journey). Six months in and holding? That's great! I know sometimes it can be difficult to remain positive, but the alternative, well, it sucks, right? Keep telling your mind and body that God is doing his job and your job is to listen to your body and to help it heal by bringing in positive and tossing out negative.
Did you read my chemo days? There were days when I just didn't know how I made it through either, but trust me, you just keep on reaching for that NED, ok. I had chemo, lost every hair on my body, got hit by a truck while walking, went to the ER, got that H1N1 flu, and 7 surgeries on top of that!!! Trust me, I understand. I believe that every single day we get is a blessing and that in itself is a positive. Rain or shine....we are here, so YAY for us!!

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for good health and positive energy to come your way!

Hugs, Arla
