Below Zero

Once again we are well below zero. This past weekend I bought a bird bath that is heated for the birds. I've wanted one for a long time that I could attach to the deck so we could watch them drink and bathe. I figured this would be a good time since water is scarce for them. It looks like its working, despite the frost being all around the edges. This is about 7 am this morning. Its not looking for tempting to head outside is it?

Suppossedly today is our last day for sub zero temps and then we begin a warm up. By Saturday we could see 50! Maybe then I'll snap a picture of this bird bath and you'll see a couple of chick a dees sun bathing!

11 Thanks for your comments!:

I swear I can feel the chill coming from my laptop. Gotta go turn up the heat! I hope your warmer weather will be the start of a big thaw!

I feel so bad for all of you who are freezing...seriously I don't like being in the 80's...although it's gorgeous weather is just scares me for what the summer will bring...too bad we couldn't hit a happy medium here.

Yay you were my first commenter on my post...just email me your address to pkfamdmly@aol.com and I will try to send some sunshine your way!

I've never seen a heated bird bath, how neat! It's like a little hot tub for birdies lol. Kathy

That looks cold Dawnie but also very pretty. A heated birdbath - never heard of one but cant wait to see some pics of the birds using it. I hope the big thaw starts soon.

Hi Dawnie,
Man I hope your right! 50's ? I love your heated bird bath. I didn't know they even had them. We had to take down our bird feeders last summer when we had a black bear in our yard! No lie. I need to get my feeders back up. The bears are still hibernating. Cindy

So sweet of you to think of the birds. I'm sure they love you for it. We've had a couple of cold spells but this week it's almost 70again. Not a normal winter around here.

Well happy bathing to all those lucky birdies!!! It is so funny, here in So Cal I worry about our birds when it is windy. I'm always afraid the wind is going to blow their nests around.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I am so with you! Wouldn't it be awesome to know what they were thinking when they were making those things? I'll never know . . . but will still treasure them always!!!
HAGD! Karen
